Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone!  I hope you all are having a warm and cozy day with family and/or friends!  I'm up at my dad's but wanted to share some photos are my apartment.  I didn't put a whole lot of effort into decorating this year, but I did put up some things to get in the Christmas spirit. Sorry for sharing this with you so late.

Christmas Wrapping {Now Unwrapped}

Happy Christmas dear readers! You are, perhaps, but a few, but are so ever important to me!  I hope you had a the merriest Christmas surrounded by loved ones, appreciating their company, and thanking God (or whatever you believe in) for all the blessing in your life.  I know I did (and do everyday)!   I went up to my mom's to spend the holiday with family as usual, but just before I left on Sunday, I got all my wrapping done and photographed so I thought I'd show you the finished product as it was before excited little hands tore the wrapping apart.

I love coordinating my wrapping paper with my Christmas decor.  It seems to really pull together the whole look and accentuate the rest of the decor you've got goin' on.  So this year, I wrapped my gifts in gold, silver, and white wrapping paper as well as some brown paper that I bought in the painting section of Home Depot. I printed some free printable gift tags from Blush Printables and topped off gifts with bows and curly-ques in gold, silver, white, and a little black to continue with the subtle contrast I have in the rest of my Christmas decor.  The result: a dazzling array of glimmer and glitter, and holiday cheer!

Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas Eve!

I know you've seen a lot of it, but you can't be over Christmas stuff on Christmas Eve, right? And of course I didn't forget to put a little Christmas cheer in the bedroom.  So here's another post of my very merry Christmas decor.

This tree is by boyfriend, Frank's tree and although I told him he could do it all by himself, I'm afraid a few little "suggestions" may have slipped out of my mouth here and there.  Overall I think I did a pretty good job restraining my controlling inclinations and I think Frank did a fantastic job with the tree!

All of my special ornaments that didn't work for the white, silver, and gold tree in the living room, made their way over here, including my very favorite moose.  Coincidentally, the ornaments seem to stick to a color scheme that is a variation on the primary colors: red, yellow, and blue, which I think looks great next to my Breakfast at Tiffany's poster. This also made it easy to coordinate a few extra decorations sprinkled about the room.

I added a few ornaments to the lamps and gave Santa a place to rest his cap at night.

I also added a few festive characters and a little Christmas ribbon to my bookshelf with some stocking hangers. I had intended on making some sort of garland (perhaps pom pom) to hang from the stocking hangers, but never quite got to that project.

And finally, a few ornaments hung in the bathroom...

Merry Christmas Eve everybody!

Dollar Store Holiday Tablescape

I thought I'd tell you a little bit more about the tablescape that I put together for the holidays. Most of the items I used are from, you guessed it, the 99cent Store! The gold chargers, clear plates, and star ornaments are all from the 99cent Store.  I also got the candles at the 99cent Store and spray painted the patterns on them (which I talked about here). The napkins, which have subtle silver threads running through them, are from HomeGoods.  The table runner is from Ikea. I thought this was the perfect thing to set of the plates for my tiny table since place mats would overlap due to the size constraint.  To add some life to the table, I filled Goodwill vases with some inexpensive, but lovely mums.  And for the final touches I added a few ornaments and scented pine cones. Aside from the fact that silly me flipped the silverware, I'm lovin' it.  What'd ya think?

Christmas Details

Here are some more little Christmas details that are cheering up my apartment this season. I switched out my usual pillows for the cable knit pillows I made, added a few touches of black for some contrast, then sprinkled gold and silver accents throughout my apartment with extra ornaments and decorations. And don't forget the fresh flowers! I'm quite pleased with how it came out.  What do you think?

Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree... its just itching to get some presents underneath it! Santa and I still have some wrapping to do.

To customize my tree topper for my Fancy Feather theme, I simply hot glued some gold tipped feathers to the back of a star I had from a few years back.

I had intended on painting a reindeer silhouette on the white lampshade below, which I picked up at Ikea for only $4.99 (can you believe it!?), but with all the DIY projects I've had going on, I didn't get to this one. Perhaps that'll be next year's project.

And here's my holiday tablescape, which I'll tell you a little bit more about tomorrow. (Please ignore the fact that the forks and spoon are flip flopped. Apparently I was a little backwards when I was setting the table... maybe because I'm left-handed... excuses excuses! Haha.)

A couple angels even flew in and parked themselves above the dining room table!

And on to the kitchen. I used the branches I had spray painted when I was making my wreath to hang more angels and other fun ornaments.

I especially like the charming little angel couple.

A couple of fun Christmas drawings I did spruce up the kitchen wall.

Duchess is enjoying this holiday season. Are you?
